Before tonight’s second episode. Let’s have a recap of
episode one.Warning contains spoilers! Well it’s back, we can all wave goodbye to the hiatus as
Klaus wreaks bloody murder over the streets of New Orleans once again.
The
season one final saw death, destruction and despair, having lost their baby,
Hope, Klaus and newly turned hybrid Hayley had to face the aftermath of a life
without their child after war was unleashed by an unexpected New Orleans
residen
t, Francesca Guerrera.
t, Francesca Guerrera.
Not one to have a semi ok
finale, Julie Plec had to make sure season one went out with a bang, leaving
the audience wanting more and turning the hiatus into a hellatus. The season
one finale saw the return of Esther and Finn (Klaus and Elijah mother and
brother) however; they are not as The Vampire Diaries fans will remember. But
they were not the only Mikaelson’s to return,
fans also saw the return of papa original, Mikael who is back to take
down his abominable son, Klaus once and for all.
So now what are our
favourite vampires, witches and werewolves up to?
The first episode of the
second season saw the short return of a beloved favourite, Rebekah. Still
looking after baby Hope, Rebekah tells her niece a bedtime story in a fairy-tale
fashion, which also acts as a rundown of what happened last season for the
audience. Now I don’t know about you, but Rebekah sure made their reality sound
enchanting, shame it’s not actually like that for the Mikaelsons.
The new season has picked up
a few months after the events of the season one finale and well Hayley and
Klaus clearly are not dealing well with the absence of their child.
On top of dealing with not
seeing her child, Hayley also has to deal with her new status as a hybrid and
the consequences that come with it. As with any newly turned vampire, their emotions
can be somewhat out of control and for Hayley it’s ten times worse, she is a
hybrid after all, so as Hayley proclaims she has a werewolf temper to go with
it. And oh boy doesn’t Francesca get to delightfully witness the lovely temper Hayley
processes, especially when she ends up dead at the hands of Hayley.
Klaus also isn’t dealing
well and is still seeking out anyone that wants to harm his child. To add to
his misery, he’s still weakened by the moonlight rings provided by not so friendly
neighbour and werewolf, Francesca. Klaus wants to see it rain blood. So to help with the fight to bring his child
back to her home, Elijah, Marcel and Hayley band together, along with Marcel
and his small but mighty vampire army to take down the last remaining werewolf
that possess a moonlight ring.
It seems Elijah and Marcel
are the only ones holding it together. But then there’s Davina, that girl can
hold her own, I mean she’s managed to keep a century old original vampire/
vampire hunter in an attic for months and no one even knows he’s there and she defiantly
does not take his crap.
It also looked like there
was romance on the cards for Davina when she meets the English charmer, Caleb,
but here’s where the shocker comes in. It’s only none other than Kol! A fan favourite
for many. So now I’m stoked that Kol is back, but now we know Caleb is actually
Kol, I don’t think Davina is going to have any luck in the romance department
where Caleb/Kol is concerned, but who knows, we’ll have to wait and see.
All in all the episode was an awesome season premiere episode.
