This post contains spoilers for season 2, if you haven’t
finished the latest season and don’t want to be spoiled don’t read ahead.
As I’m sure most of you have finished the latest season and
most likely binged watched rather than pacing yourselves because let’s face it,
it was too good to turn off, here are my top five moments of season 2 Orange Is
The New Black,
5. Wedding and a funeral all in one
Episode 9
One of the strangest moments to happen on Orange,
Piper’s brother Cal decides to have a wedding right smack bang in the middle of
his Grandmother’s funeral, to the unamusement of his parents.
4. Poussey gets her girls back and takes down Vee
Episode 13
Poussey had a hard time of it this season, losing
Taystee, left beaten in the bathroom and to top it off her friends turned their
backs on her. However, all this changes when Taystee, Black Cindy and Janae
realise just how bad Vee can get and decide to boot her out of their ‘family’ and
tell the police it was Vee that tried to kill Red not Crazy Eyes, leaving
Poussey with her friends and Vee with nothing.
3. Morello’s back story
Episode 4
There was a lot of character back story this season, but Morello’s was one of the more interesting. In the episode we
learn that Morello never actually dated Christopher at all and she's well and
truly a classified bunny boiler, not only has she been planning a wedding she’ll
never have but also threatened and attempted to harm his new girlfriend. However, despite all her crazy, the episode really
made you sympathise with her and love her even more. Who knows someday in the future
she might make it to Bora Bora Bora.
2. Red’s back in the game
Episode 9
After losing her kitchen in season
one and a revenge plan gone wrong(injuring one of her own, Gina) Red was left
out in the cold by her ‘family’. However, Red gets back in the game when she
stumbles upon a drain in the green house. Realising she can get her contraband
back into the prison, Red sets out to make amends with her ‘family’ and in the
process becomes the contraband queen once more. Episode 9 sees Red back on top,
as her ‘family’ is whole again after preparing them a family dinner in the
green house and apologising for everything she’s done wrong.
1. Rosa escapes
Rosa finds out she only has weeks
to live and when the time comes she will have no other choice but to die
in prison. Morello knowing her wishes not to die in prison ‘accidentally’
leaves the keys in the van and walks away, giving Rosa the opportunity to
escape and die on her own terms. But that’s not all has she drives away, she
comes across another escapee, Vee and with nothing to lose runs her down,
leaving her for dead.
